It’s time for Secodsguru to press pause! After 10 years of learning, talking, exploring, teaching, hustling, workshopping and doing all things sustainable (phew!), our founders - Anuja Byotra and Lara Rath- have come to a difficult decision to bring Secondsguru to a close. We will be wrapping things over the next few weeks, and curtains drop early 2025. The past decade has been quite a ride, and we loved it all. Starting out with backgrounds in banking and media - we swerved right into an eco-scape that was still slowly finding its way into everyday conversations in Singapore. It was an exciting time of growth, and since then, environment, sustainability and ESG have become mainstream words, while greener ways of living and doing business are commanding a bigger market. However, entrepreneurship has its unpredictable moments - and we have decided to press pause, before deciding how to better align our skill sets to further the cause of environmental and social sustainability. A heartfelt thanks to all of you - team members, partners, volunteers, readers, clients - who have made our journey the joy it was! #GreenLivingMadeEasy

Fostering sustainable mindsets at Attorney-General's Chambers, Singapore! Secondsguru led a #LearningExperience focused on the real cost of consumerism, as part of the #LearningFiesta at AGC. Directing conversations and activities that ranged from analysing our buying patterns to hands-on repurposing - we hoped participants would leave inspired to undertake personal lifestyle edits. To be honest, our founders, Anuja Byotra and Lara Rath left super charged up themselves, thanks to the enthusiastic audience and the ambitious pledges everyone left with! #GreenLivingMadeEasy #SustainableSG

Yesterday, we had the privilege of exploring the biodiversity at Pulau Semakau - yes, in Singapore’s only remaining landfill facility! – as part of an National Environment Agency Partners’ outing. Guided by area experts, we went exploring the intertidal zone, ooh-ing and aah-ing over sea sponges, corals, nudibranchs, snails, crabs, sea stars, even a giant clam, among an array of species that continue to call Singapore home despite the challenges that our rapid urbanisation throws at them. But you don’t need to go to Semakau to know that there’s so much we can do to make Singapore more hospitable and sustainable. Be it protecting our natural heritage, or reducing the waste burden – let us be your guide on why and how we can act asap – connect with us for Secondsguru’s #LearningExperiences. #GreenLivingMadeEasy #SustainableSingapore

#makingnews The project on ♻️inter-generational advocacy for the environment ♻️ from our 9th #zerowastebootcamp was spot-lit by Lianhe Zaobao 联合早报- and this is all thanks to the passionate and sincere collaboration between Team champs (our youth volunteers) and Senior Champions (from Yong-en Care Centre) ! To dispel notions that Seniors are missing from the climate action conversation, and dispel misinformation on what can/cannot be recycled in SG - the group ran educational booths, and even conceived, shot and starred in #recycleright videos 🤩. #greenlivingmadeeasy #cleanandgreenSG https://lnkd.in/g-64EPmY
