As you declutter your homes in the upcoming Year of the Pig, set aside preloved-backpacks, caps, power banks and umbrellas-that are in mint condition. Ang Pao packets are welcome too.
Collections will be be done islandwide and redistributed by the awesome team from Itsrainingraincoats to the hard working and very deserving migrant workers in Singapore.

Event Details

EcoBank, a CDL and Eco-Business initiative is back in 2019 – for the fourth year in a row and here is how you can participate

1. Donate your pre-loved clothes, bags, shoes, toys, electronics, stationary, artwork, fashion accessories and home decor items. The collection drive will be running from 8th to 28th January and will be at 7 collection points islandwide. See poster for drop off locations.

2. Buy pre-loved: The items collected will be sold at the EcoBank Bazaar from March 1st to 3rd at City Square Mall. The proceeds from the sales at the Bazaar will go towards the ARC Children’s Centre a day-car center for children with cancer or other life-threatening illness(es) in Singapore. Unsold items will go to the Embodhi Foundation to benefit low-income women in Sri Lanka, India and Vietnam.

3. Volunteer: Help sort the donations received from January 14th to February 25th and/or set up and manage stalls at the EcoBank bazaar from March 1st to 3rd. As a token of thanks vouchers of $10 from City Square Mall will be offered for every shift volunteers take part in. If you are interested, do sign-up via this online registration form. MeshMinds is back for the

Event Details

MeshMinds is back for the 2nd year- MeshMinds 1.0 was held at ArtScience Museum in Singapore and focussed on Art and Tech for good. The 2019 version will focus on the UNSDG’s[ United Nation Sustainable Development Goals] and will be held in conjunction with Singapore Art Week involving works from 15 LASALLE student-artists from fine arts, electronic music, and broadcast media backgrounds. They will present their experiments by combining their art practice with technology while keeping sustainable themes in mind.

The co-founders of Secondsguru will be speakers at the event on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 3 pm. They will be engaging with the audience in conversations around the plastic waste problem and irresponsible consumption.

Get up close with our farmers and find out about their produce at the Kranji’s recurring Farmers’ Market. This edition is specially themed around Chinese New Year, so you can also expect plants and goodies for celebrations at home / office!

The Kranji Countryside Farmers’ Market is the first authentic local farmers’ market in Singapore. Local farm produce (vegetables, fruit, herbs, eggs, fish, milk, etc.), locally-made artisanal food and products, community workshops and family activities are all part of the market. It is a quarterly event held in different parts of the Kranji Countryside, one of Singapore’s last remaining vestiges of farming.

About i Light

i Light Singapore showcases light art installations created by artists from Singapore and around the world. These are designed with energy-saving lighting or environmentally-friendly materials to encourage festival goers and the general public to adopt sustainable habits in their everyday lives. The Festival also features a range of fringe activities for visitors to enjoy, bringing vibrancy to public spaces in our city centre.

Straw Free @ i Light will also be launched as a collaboration between i Light Singapore and Straw Free Singapore at this festival. Their goal: To discourage the use of single-use plastic during the Festival and thereon. Various F&B establishments have committed to varying degrees of commitment to be “Straw free” during this period. See the list here.
