With the summer holidays nearly here, we’re sure most parents have that one burning question on their minds – How do we keep our kids ‘entertained’!? Yes, there will be negotiations on screen time and over-playing of video games, but even so, there is definitely room to spare to go exploring. So, to make things easy for you – we’ve drawn up outdoor activities to keep those grey cells active and restless hands occupied. Our suggestion? Head out to Kranji Countryside – home to Singapore’s few but fabulous farms.

Luckily for us urbanites, many farms have year-round tours to give adults as well as kids a hands-on experience to ‘farm life’. For the summer holidays, there are even specially planned activities for children at the ever-popular Bollywood Veggies.

Here’s a cherry-picking from all that is happening. To start off, we are highlighting special events in June – block your calendars! Further below, we’ve arranged experiences ranging from flora to fauna to food.  Do keep in mind, if you’re going ‘out of your way’ to get there; it’s definitely going to be a half day or more affair. So don’t hurry it, take your time and enjoy getting up and close with nature!

Most of the activities are-walk in (cash only). We’ve highlighted events where prior registration is needed.
