The Heartland e-Waste Recycling Programme is back in 2016!
The project – a partnership between South East Community Development Council and Panasonic – creates additional collection points at centrally-located community centres on specified weekends. For every piece of e-waste recycled, vulnerable families receive energy-efficient light bulbs. So really, there is no excuse for you to chute your electronics! Anything that functions with an electric cord will be accepted.
Though frankly, there is never any excuse to bin toxic waste : reuse them, resell them, upcycle them.,.. but don’t chute them! If you want to discard old mobile phones / laptops / wires / etc, the National Environment Agency [NEA] has a ready reckoner of drop-off bins in Singapore.
