Event Details

Fashion Revolution Week is an annual campaign bringing together the world’s largest fashion activism movement for seven days of action. Singapore and other major cities across the globe will hold events to draw attention to the world of fashion.

Teams from Secondsguru’s 8th Zero Waste Bootcamp are also hosting events during Fashion Revolution Week.

The full list of key events is below, join us for these events throughout the week.

1. T-shirt Upcycling Workshop| Friday, 21 April 2023 
Time: 5 – 6.30pm (Session 1) / 6.30 – 8pm (Session 2)
Venue: Clementi Public Library

 Breathe a fresh leash of life into your old shirts by turning them into tote bags and coasters! This event is hosted by youth volunteers belonging to Team Rags to Riches from Secondsguru’s 8th Zero Waste Bootcamp.
2. Basic Mending Techniques Workshop| Saturday, 22 April 2023 
Time: 2 – 5 pm (You can drop in and leave anytime)
Venue: The Mercure Singapore on Stevens (in collaboration with Fashion Parade)

Learn 3 common stitches using scrap materials before proceeding to mend pre-loved damaged pieces donated by CLOOP, an organization that aims to close the fashion loop for good. Mended pieces can be taken home or returned to the swap pile for others to swap. Conducted by volunteers from Team SlothFashion, who are part of the 8th Zero Waste Bootcamp
 3. Slay Film Screening  | Wednesday, 26 April 2023
Time: 7 – 9.30 pm
Venue: The Projector at Golden Mile Tower

As their contribution to Fashion Revolution week, Centre For a Responsible Future and Swapaholic are co-hosting SG’s premiere screening of the eye-opening film, SLAY alongside the movie’s award-winning producer and director Rebecca Cappelli. SLAY is a groundbreaking documentary which looks into the ongoing use of animal skins – leather, fur, and wool – within the fashion industry.
