When we moved into our new apartment I wanted a side table that would sit in between 2 over-sized chairs in our living room. And hence began my search for the perfect side table. I wanted something small that would occupy almost zero floor space, something with a neutral tone, stylish and functional to hold a cup or plate. It was hard to find one that fit all the criteria and the ones I liked were way over my budget. So I finally decided it was time for some DIY intervention :).
On one of my holidays I had picked up this pretty mirrored tray and never found a place or use for it. I then decided to attach the mirrored tray to an old IKEA stool (available at IKEA for $6.50) and voila- I had the perfect side table! All it took was some double-sided tape and a little creativity to make this coveted piece for my home!
What do you think? Have you ever transformed or embellished a piece of old furniture? Do you have an Ikea hack to share?
